Hello, and welcome to Mapping Americana; I’m glad you found me! This blog is dedicated to exploring and explaining the weirdness behind the map of America. In short, if a question pops into my head while I’m looking at an atlas or Google Maps, I’ll attempt to answer it here. You can read more about the purpose of this blog on my “About” page.
I will typically add posts here about twice per week; I’m sure that as I add more and more posts a concrete schedule will begin to emerge. For now, let’s go with Tuesdays and Saturdays. This will be my first blog, and I’m still getting used to the process of creating content, especially embedding media in posts and pages. Bear with me, I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it soon enough! If you do like my content, go ahead and subscribe!
The reason I’m starting this blog, and the reason I’ve enjoyed similar blogs in the past, is that I have a seemingly endless number of questions about the geographical and man-made quirks that make the USA what it is, just begging to be answered. If you’re reading this blog, I’m sure you’re in a similar predicament! If you have a burning question about that map you’ve been looking that needs to be answered, or have an idea for a fun topic, feel free to email me about it!
Let’s get this show on the road! A new article will be coming soon!
